Salam, Kia ora, Hello! As many of you would probably know, there will be a Multicultural Fest happening this Sunday organised by Ethnic Council Wellington Inc. Our awesomely talented dancers (and friends) from Bahtera Budaya are performing there to represent Malaysia, and there will also be Malaysian foodstalls and a kompang reception (thanks Affendi for the tip). Here are the details: Event : Multicultural Festival Theme : Unity in Diversity Venue : Wellington Town Hall Time : Sunday 23 August 2009 (10am–4pm) Fee : Entrance - door donation Besides the Zapin & Joget dances by our friends , there will also be cultural performances like Batucada, Bollywood, Yosakoi Japan and African Drumming, as well as other cultural things like foods- and crafts-selling from a very diverse range of cultures. Salam, Kia ora, Hello! Bahtera Budaya (lit. 'Cultural Vessel') is a dance group made of Malaysian students based in Wellington, New Zealand. The group has performed numerous dancing styles for special occasions, particularly cultural events. Their dances range from cultural/traditional to contemporary, and they are assisted by creative and experienced dancers of diverse backgrounds.
