We made it! One of the most remarkable events - Malaysia Week. This event aimed to promote the rich and beautiful cultures of Malaysia to others. This was a three-days event. Each day we provided lots of interesting activities for our guests. There were traditional games, clothing, foods, info booth and many more.
Day 1: The Hub and Student Union, SU309 and 310
Event started with parade. There were 'kompang' team and executives of WMSO escorting the bride and groom from level 2 The Hub to Malaysia Week booth at level 1. There was also 'silat' performance by 4 excellent students, conducted by President of WMSO herself - Syairah Zahari.
As the weather was not really suppporting, Bazaar Malaysia needed to be held seperately from the main booth, which was at SUMT309 and 310. But, the response was huge. There were so many people visited the stalls and gave awesome feedback about the food.
Day 2: Beaglehole Courtyard, Kelburn Campus
There were so many performances on second day including 'silat', zapin, indian tradisional dance, tai chi and sarawak dance. By the help of our awesome spokesperson and supportive audience, we managed to held the biggest flash mob in Victoria University of Wellington in Sarawak Dance.
Day 3: Student Union, SU217 and 218
On third day event, we had Merdeka Quiz. Out of 9 groups, only 3 groups had be chosen as winners. The closing ceremony was conducted by our hilarious MC. There were certificates and prizes giving slot and also cake cutting session. We, the committees of Malaysia Week truly thankful to those who participate in this event. I hope you guys enjoy throughout these days. May we see you again, Malaysia Week 2016!
