Groovy Movie Monday

Salam, Kia ora, Hello!

The Bersatu Games are coming up pretty soon and WMSO hopes to minimise the athletes' burden by financially supporting them a little. Plus, we miss everyone and we feel like everyone deserves a pat on the back for almost completing a/another uni trimester. We figured that the best way to resolve these issues of ours is to have a casual meetup, especially in these wintry days in Welly.

So, wanna help your comrades out the fun way? How does a movie-watching get-together sound? ;)

Title : Night at the Museum 2 : Battle of the Smithsonian
Day/te : Monday 25th May 2009
Time : 8.15pm onwards
Ticket : $12/person
Contact :Apo or Mika or our email - by Monday 10am!
Still unsure? Recite this :

"I MUST WATCH MOVIE WITH WMSO ON MONDAY!" least a dozen of times ;)

If you've decided to come, spread the word and drag your friends along (if they're unsure, repeat the same line for better influence effect)! The more the merrier, as they say.

Lastly, have a good we…

Pre-Bersatu Games Updates

Salam, Kia ora, Hello!

last year's training

Electronic WMSO mails have already been sent out to all its members to notify / remind / announce the soon-ish arrival of this year's Bersatu Games. This time around, Palmerston North's the host of this augural event, and it's going to be held between 5-10th July.

Venue's set, dates are set, so now all we need to get our ball rollin are athletes!

So come on over to our auditions (no Cowell remarks, assured) and trainings (for those who made it, or just to give support)! You can find the pdf version of the schedule here to find out more.

Lastly, hope all is well with uni and life and everything in between and not.

Stay warm and cool! ;)

Mixed Futsal '09 : report+pics

Salam, Kia ora, Hello!

We had 7 teams competing at the Rec Centre at Massey Uni today for our 2009 Mixed Futsal event. Suffice to say... It. Was. a Blast. Although the event started a bit later than the tentative 10am, the turn up was good and the weather outside was very pleasant. Looks like the heavens are still with us since our first sports event of the year (Mixed Netball). Alhamdulillah.

Without further ado, let's get on to the juicier stuff. Here's the 411 on the gold, silver, and bronze winners:
1st :
Ahmad Faruqi (Poqy)'s team - "Kaki Bangku"

2nd :
Che Mohd Ridhwan (CMR)'s team - "Zombie Kg. Pisang"

3rd :
Syafiq Ikhwan's team - "Lubuk"

Best players:
Male - Faiz Yatim (Lennon); Female - Wan Ling
Congrats to those who won medals, and we hope everyone who attended our humble (but awesome) event had a fantastic time. We'll update this entry with photos soon, AND We'll upload heaps more images in our online gallery in the near future.

Are you with us?

Salam, Kia ora, Hello!

According to our member-info database, some member names did not have with them contact details (phone number and/or email), which we are quite concerned about. So here we would like to make sure that our voice is reaching out to you. We don't want you to hear us from the ends of the echo, we want you to hear us right from the source itself (=us). We want you to get WMSO updates that are untouched, unfiltered, uncensored, all that stuff.

Basically put, we want you to know what's up with us directly from us.

So, how DO you find out if you're on our email list for, y'know, updates and stuff?
