Pada 15 Septermber yang lepas telah diadakan sambutan Grand Finale Malaysia Festival di bumi bertuah Wellington ni. Kalau dua hari sebelumnya (rujuk entri lepas) kita buat sambutan pada peringkat universiti sahaja, hari Sabtu pula merupakan hari di mana kami mempromosikan Malaysia untuk rakyat Wellington! Suasana masih gelap dan kelawar pun belum pulang ke sarang mereka tapi mereka yang sangat berdedikasi ni telah menunjukkan kesungguhan dalam menjayakan program MaFest pada hari tersebut Pada waktu pagi, khemah untuk booths yang mempamerkan pelbagai aktiviti dan budaya Malaysia telah didirikan untuk pengunjung. Designed by Syed Ameerul Shakir Akhirnya tamatlah sudah sambutan Malaysia Festival ( MaFest ) yang julung-julung kali diadakan di New Zealand. Sebelum ini sambutan seumpamanya pernah diadakan di Australia tetapi kalini rakyat di bumi Wellington New Zealand telah diberi peluang untuk memikul amanah tersebut. Berikut ialah rentetan peristiwa sepanjang minggu sambutan yang mendapat respon dan kerjasama yang sangat baik daripada semua pihak. We are pretty sure that many of us Malaysians who come to New Zealand are most likely to end up buying new phones here because some of us just can resist the offers and plans especially when it comes to Iphones. While Iphones and Android phones are the most sought after types of cellphones, we tend to forget the old ones that had been helpful so far. Mine ended up being left under my bed for almost 2 years but hey, it is still working! But im not a businessman, neither a casanova to have multiple working phones at a time. On top of that, I dont find having a mobile phone in Wellington seem to be that big of a deal. Mine rarely rings except when receiving calls from my landlord and bills companies. The kick-off has started for Rugby World Cup 2011 here in New Zealand and in conjunction with the much anticipated event, our very own Bahtera Budaya has been invited to promote Malaysian culture through our dance! They most probably are intrigued and attracted to our past performances here in New Zealand. To name a few, Asian Night Market 2011 , and Asian Night Market 2010  . Thanks to the zeal and enthusiasm that our representatives had shown throughout these years, we are now (In NZ) very well-known for out multiculturalism There are some more events that involved Bahtera Budaya group but unfortunately I have no access to those photo albums nor was I even at those events due to personal bereavement.
